Enjoying the warmth

The end of summer is near!

That is why I want to enjoy the last days of summery warmth as much as possible , as much as British weather allows.

While it might not be an appropriate temperature for shorts or breezy dresses, it is perfect for light shirts and trousers - but I always have a coat/jacket on me.
You never know, it might rain or become windy in the space of 5 mins.

I wanted to share my love for this new ZARA jacket that is appropriate for both a chilly summer's evening and a warm autumn evening. The light pink in combination with the mustard and blue make it a great piece for this seasons as it is very easy to combine with jeans, dresses, velvet pieces or even lace.

I am ready for AUTUMN!

Day 2 & Tips on how to shop on SheIn

Day 2 - has gone too quickly !

We started our day at 10:30 and after make-up and hair was done, we were on our way to see Banksy's work at Moco Museum, learn about diamonds and see some modern art at Stedelijk Museum.

I have to admit to something, I liked Banksy's work more than anything else - I think because of the messages that were scattered within the pieces (very political at times)

Being the scientist that I am, I visited the Micropia Museum that houses numerous microbes form around the world, a real life laboratory and some stool samples ;) The idea is very nice and if you'd like to play with some microscopes or be grossed-out by the microorganisms that can be found on your toothbrush, remote control or phone - I highly recommend it.

The day went past really quickly, but it was worth the long walks along the canal, the warm breeze blowing my hair and blending in with the crowds.

Now, let me tell you about something interesting

Being on holiday made me realise how much I needed more summer inspiration and new clothes. I know many of you struggle to find nice pieces that are affordable.

Personally, I change my wardrobe every season and I buy expensive pieces only if I know they will last me for a long time or are classic items that are worth investing in.

Unless the above, I like to buy many pieces that I can mix and match & most importantly, that are cheap.

1. Check measurements - as it is an asian company, their sizes can run a bit small. For example, I am normally a size 8UK, but on their website I had to order size M or even L when buying some pieces.

2. Be smart and read the reviews - one great feature of the website, is their reviews section. People post photos of their items and they can get VIP points (that can be used as discount when purchasing pieces). The are honest and give you an insight into how the actual item might look on you, rather than the model.

3. Go crazy and use discount codes - always check the top banner of the website, that is where the discount codes are located. From 20% to 45% off, the choice is yours. This is what I love about the website, I sometimes might have 200$ worth of products, and in fact I might only have to pay for 100-120$. Girl in Amsterdam I

Hello everyone, I am writing to you from the beautiful Amsterdam. Weather is gorgeous and people are very nice

It's been a windy kinda day (see last photo) but I'm loving this place! The 24 degrees Celsius are a plus too ;;) I missed summer, that's for sure.

To go with the happy and joyful mood of the city, I paired my blue wide-leg ZARA trousers with a bardot style top, funky shoes and my fave jacket !

Easy breezy !

I have decided to try an post everyday while I'm here <3

Please, let me know any good recommendations of places and food (vegan) - I am not a fan of trying the touristy areas and I want to dive in the culture and place as much as I can

Jeans in Summer

With summer making a comeback. it's more difficult to find outfits that are easy breezy, and comfortable. I know many might be thinking skirts and dresses, and less about jeans and denim

-but-

I love my denim, it's comfortable, easy to wear and I less maintenance in comparison to the girly dress

Most of all, it's wear and tear proof ! If my ripped jeans become more ripped and worn in, I feel like they have more character and I love them even more.

My best tips for wearing denim in the summer:

1. Choose the thin denim - there are a few types of jeans out there - from very thick to very thin - choose the latter to make sure you will not be boiling at 37 degrees Celsius

2. Ripped is fit - in order to allow air to flow I think it's best to choose items that are ripped and are very casual - don't forget you can always accessories it and make it look fancy ;)

nobody want sweaty private part ;)

3. Loose for the goose - nobody likes the feeling of being trapped in super slim fit jeans at 37 degrees Celsius. My advice - pick a pair of jeans or dungarees that are loose - the boyfriend fit is perfect for this. I even borrow the boyfriend's actual jeans match it with a pair of sexy heels and I am good to go - this can be out little secret-

No matter how you choose to wear denim think about the style you are trying to go for. Today, I wanted to still feel feminine, show a bit of skin, while at the same time - feel put together & cute ;)
I decided to wear a pair of Ripped Dungarees that remind me of when I was about 4years old and covered in ice-cream, with a black ribbed crop top and a pair of very high heeled sandals that I bought from ZARA during the winter sale for just 10£ - bargain ! To add a feminine touch, I added a stacked gold necklace and my classic Michael Kors watch. For a bit of edge, I added my oh so old by now, pair of Marble Sunglasses from Quay Australia (they are sold out everywhere, but I have links for similar below).
I think this turned out quite well and most of all, I was comfortable! <3

If you want a laid back look - a pair of white sneakers and a white Tee matched with a hair bandana

How to be Feminine but casual

Simplicity has always been my word of choice when coming up with a look, but the key to simplicity is courage. Dare to be different, dare to be you - no matter your skin colour, religious or sexuality.

We are all humans that need love, affection and kindness! That's all we need in order to achieve happiness :) Spread love and don't let anyone put you down !

Back to our normal planned post

Today I have decided to put a look together that is both feminine and casual. By now, I think you have gotten used to my classy and casual posts, this is something I enjoy to wear daily and is easy for all of us to achieve

I am wearing a comfy pair of yoga trouser paired with an H&M nude top, a plaid shirt to cover that backside because let's admit it - nobody likes seeing your underwear ! (the ones who like it are odd people !!) Added a pair of lace up high heels that need to be a perfect fit, just so you can walk through all the shops ;) And a classy Saint Laurent Monogram bag to spice up everything !

Easy peasy lemon squeeze - as the commercial says...

If it's warm where you are form, this would also go perfectly with a band tank top or a crop top with a delicate lace bra with straps across the chest ;)

P.S. Borrowed the ripped jeans jacket from the boyfriend - thanks to him I am always looking warm, but fresh

Statement pieces
